System Hallmarks: Simple is great. That’s right, an integrated amp in an elite system…hmmm must be mighty good. It is. It is essentially a MOON P-7 and a W-7  in one box at half the price. At least you’d have to have them side by side to hear the difference. Harry Pearson said these speakers are great and he knows a few things about audio. The Grand Veenas have such crystalline purity to their sound, helped by the internal Bybee technology, but without a crossover circuit in the way of the signal and a full bass range into the below 30Hz realm…what’s not to like?     

 This system has clarity out the wazoo. The bigger MOON cd player gets most of the spectrum just about exactly as it is able to be rendered. A very lively player, dynamic, open, 3-D, all the good things. But the combo is so transparent. The two MOON pieces are in the Evolution line of their products. Would you believe that these two sound better than the venerable P-5/W-5 stack and an Eclipse from days past? Simple and better. That’s called evolution. That’s the point. You must hear this system before you venture into this spending category.
